Uniquities

Uniquities is a locally owned women’s fashion boutique started in 1992 by entrepreneur Julie Jennings.

“I sold books door to door when I was in college and was able to save enough money to travel around the world for a year with a backpack and a camera. When I returned to the US, I started my first business designing and importing accessories from Turkey.

After a fire destroyed our warehouse and simply wanting to see more of the country, I moved south to Chapel Hill, NC.

It was in 1992 that I started Uniquities. I knew no one in North Carolina but somehow I managed to find an empty storefront on West Franklin St, buy some inventory and set up shop. A ton of hard work, resilience, and grit have led me to where I am today with five locations in North Carolina, ownership of the building that I found empty back in the summer of 1992, and leading a team of strong, smart women and one man to bring amazing clothing, accessories, and style to this little part of heaven.”
